Let's Talk Choices
Speakers and vendors are available to answer your questions and you will receive a packet of information regarding legal end of life healthcare issues. This helpful and informative program is put on at no charge to the attendees.
The focus of this free educational opportunity is on Advance Care Planning. The Coalition for Quality End of Life Care desires to encourage individuals to develop Advance Directives and to provide other relevant information about end of life issues and health care in general to interested people. Most people do not know what happens when there is no plan in place or that the state of Texas has a default plan for people who do not have a Directive. Likewise, many people are uncertain about how to best honor their loved ones in the face of a terminal illness especially when that loved one is no longer able to communicate. This seminar will explore these issues and equip participants to have meaningful conversations with loved ones so that their medical choices are honored. Additional information will be available from our speakers and exhibitors on topics such as:
-Legal forms such as Powers of Attorneys, Wills, and Guardianship
-Funeral Planning
-Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and VA benefits
-Hospice
-Assisted living
