Speakers Bureau
The Coalition for Quality End of Life Care has a panel of local experts available to speak with to your group, organization, service club, faith group and even your faith community.
We can provide speakers for small and large venues. Our speakers bureau is composed of dedicated professionals from a variety of disciplines such as medical doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains and business professionals who serve in Tarrant County. Each is an expert in his or her discipline as it pertains to the end of life. The most frequent topic our speaker address is Advance Care Planning.
Most folks need some introduction to this important and often neglected topic, in order to develop a meaningful plan.
A good plan helps one honor his or her own medical choices and is activated when that individual can no longer communicate. Likewise, having a plan in place is a powerful way to care for one’s family, so the family is not burdened with making medical decisions at end of life for someone else.
Many folks who have filled out forms have not communicated a true plan to their families and thus unknowingly delegated the burden of decision making. This dynamic is not clearly understood. Our speakers can help listeners understand these and other dynamics with the goal of completing a plan that will best honor the individual’s medical choices and help their family better understand them far in advance of serious illness.
